Saturday night at rushville saw twenty wing micro cars in the pits. With a decent pill draw and fourth place starting spot in the heat race we were able to hang on thru the rough track conditions and ended up fourth. For the feature we started deep, 14th and had the game plan to finish in on piece tonight 5-8 laps into the thirty lapper we had worked up to 7th and was still gaining ground. But by being cautious in a bottle up in turn one and two we dropped all the way back to 14th. We settled in and began picking off cars and staying out of trouble and was able to bring the car home in 7th place, on a rough and tough track to pass on.
I can't thank Chris Smith enough for letting me run his #54 micro, hopefully some of my setup ideas will help him in the coming weeks.
Have a good one!

At Rushville fairgrounds last night 31 micros showed up for the non-wing event. I started 6th in the heat race and was able to make a quick jump to 3rd where I finished in a transfer position. With a 12 car invert for the feature that put me on the outsde pole. With the track back in better shape and the Chris Smith 54 working great in the early stages I was able to stay in the top3. As I was working for second place position we made contact with another car through the rough part of the track and bent a front tie rod ending our first evening. We will be back at Rushville tomorrow evening for the winged micro race. Hope to see you there

As I have finished up with school I now have a new job and will be coming back to Farmland. I am very excited to be able to work on the race cars more and will continue to build up the new sprint car motor.
I will be working at doing monthly updates until things start picking up for Main Spirit Racing!
Have a good one.

With it being opening weekend in Indiana for sprint car racing, I thought I could post some very good news about the 2010 season. We have recently purchased a 410ci motor that we have began the process of rebuilding. With hopes of having the motor race ready by the 2011 season. We are sure going to be working hard to hit the track as soon as financially possible.
As for this summer I hope to be running any micro, midget or sprint I get the chance to jump into.
See ya at the track soon!

With 40 non wing cars in the pits and a very heavy and fast track for micro's. A 8th place starting spot meant work in the heat race, but in the Bookwalter car I was able to make my way up to fourth. That put me on the outside front row for the first B-Main, which I ended up second in. Shortly after our B-Main the rains came. The features and other B-Main's where pushed back to Sunday. For the feature Sunday I had a 16th starting spot on a track completely opposite of Saturday night, as one other driver would say, "We went from hot laps at Kokomo Saturday night, to the Indy mile Sunday!” The track was dry and slick, mid way in the feature it began to take rubber on the pole and after receiving some contact I was able to make my way up to a tenth place finish.
What takes place over the winter months for us is really hard to tell, many things are up in the air as to what or where Main Spirit Racing will be for the 2010 season.
I am hopeful to keep the seat of a race car warm somewhere this off season.
Have a good one!
